DAVID SCHEIDEMANTLE, President and Managing Partner of Scheidemantle Law Group P.C., has represented policyholders in disputes with insurance companies for 35 years. His coverage practice spans numerous types of insurance coverage, from large property losses, environmental claims, wrongful death, toxic injuries, and cyber coverage to professional liability, directors and officers, products liability, construction defects, and builders risk. He relishes the highly technical, cerebral and creative aspects of the coverage practice as well as fighting for the underdog and underserved in bad faith litigation.

On behalf of his policyholder clients, David has achieved insurance recoveries exceeding $350 million.  He has also scored complete victories on behalf of defendants in construction product claims collectively alleging $7 billion in damages, all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.  One of those clients was the third largest petrochemical companies in the world.

Scheidemantle Law Group has offices in Pasadena and New York City. David is the Group Leader of the ProVisors New York City 10 group, on the Executive Committee of the East Valley Lawyers Affinity Group, and enjoys his original home group, Pasadena 2.

Before founding his current firm, David was an equity partner at the New York-based international law firm of Proskauer Rose LLP. After graduating cum laude from Fordham University School of Law, where he was editor of the Fordham Law Review, David served as judicial law clerk to Judge Inzer B. Wyatt of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and Judge William H. Timbers of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Prior to law school, David received a Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School, where, as a violinist, he was Concertmaster of the Juilliard Symphony, the Juilliard Philharmonia, and the National Orchestra of New York, performing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. He also performed on Broadway as a violinist, including in the original cast of the musical Sweeney Todd. More recently, he toured China as a violinist accompanying the world-renowned Los Angeles Children’s Chorus and has performed in benefit recitals for numerous non-profit organizations.

Active in the community, David has served as Board Chair for three non-profit arts organizations and as a board member of other arts organizations, including the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the American Friends of the Israel Philharmonic. He also sat on the Board of Trustees of Scripps College.
